Content & Marketing Professional
I help businesses and nonprofits build memorable brands through graphic design, photography, websites, video, and strategic marketing.
I began my career with NBC NewsChannel as a writer and producer. After absorbing a wealth of knowledge and experience (and scoring a husband!), I realized that television news was not a good fit for me. I accepted a job as a newspaper writer and photographer, and was eventually recruited into the advertising department. Working with my accounts on the layout and design of their print ads was far more interesting to me than peddling ad space, and I transitioned from selling ads to creating them.
After working for a design agency as a creative account manager, I made the leap into the freelance world. Through the years, I have helped my clients tell their stories and enforce their brands through print, website design and management, social media, and content creation. I am always striving to stay up to date on the latest trends and developments in marketing, and I feel a genuine sense of accomplishment by helping clients exceed their marketing expectations.
Knowledge (and understanding) of the big picture. I have served in several different roles throughout my marketing career, from video producer to website content manager. I understand how all marketing avenues work together for campaign success.
A creative left brain. Turns out, we artsy types can geek out on numbers. I have a genuine curiosity about what people do (and don’t do) after they click an ad or consume content. I also love to compile reports to show how the marketing is working, excelling at meeting the client where they are in terms of analytics comprehension and presenting to them in a way they understand.
A fierce defender of proper grammar and spelling. I was the spelling bee champion of my middle school for three years straight. I am also a person who gets anxiety from the slaughter of the English language on social media posts and even in mainstream media at times. Mistakes do happen, but as an avid self-editor I catch the vast majority of them so someone else doesn’t have to.
An experienced remote worker who meets or beats deadlines. I was working remotely before it became “a thing.” I am a self-starter who gets the job done with an upbeat, positive attitude.
